Reading is one of the most popular interest and the constraints faced by readers to pursue their interests are Costly Books, Absence of good libraries or books shops in near vicinity and to an extent lack of collection. Librarywala is a service that caters to 3C’s of a reader – Cost, Convenience, and Collection.

We started our work on this venture in October 2006 and commenced our first operations in Mumbai on August 2008.

Librarywala is a venture of 4 friends who in their past used to face “No Book Syndrome” due to the constraints and want to make people read.
It’s a brain child of Hiten Dedhia, MBA Finance with over 6 year experience in operations and strategy consulting with a leading Management Consulting firm in India
Hiten Turakhia, Post grad in foreign trade and IT diploma, has over 8 years experience in building and managing an IT network solutions company.
Shibanarayan Rath, MBA operations, has over 6 years experience in supply chain and project management consulting with global MNC
Dhairyasheel Pawar, MBA Finance, has 7 years experience in IT products and solutions marketing with leading global IT company

Librarywala is planning and preparing to open 5 to 6 more centers by march 2009.

Do you have your own library in each city or have contact to local libraries?

All the books listed on the website are purchased and stocked by us at Mumbai as well as Bangalore. We stock around 8000 unique titles with multiple copies of fast running titles.

What are the killing features of librarywala.com? It has similar features of Netflix, what do you say?

What netflix is to movie vierwers, librarywala is to readers. But we do have following difference:

- We are the only online circulating library which mentions the status of the book pertaining to its availability.

- We are the only on line circulating library which do not have criteria of minimum numbers of titles per delivery.

- Also we are the only one which do not have a compulsion of delivery against pickup. We also do only pickups and only deliveries.

- In future, we aim to bring all the entities related to books (authors, publishers, readers etc.) together and be a platform when you talk of a book.

Any difficulties you are facing?

Everyday there is a new difficulty / challenge but we believe there will be multiple ways to solve this difficulty
