Even as gamers eagerly await the unveiling of the GX 260 and GX 280 chipsets in India, NVIDIA gave hardcore gamers a reason to cheer by launching GeForce 9800 GTX+, the latest in the line of XFX graphics card in the country.
Powered by 128 processor cores running at 1.83GHz, the 9800 GTX+ comes with HybridPower technology that consumes less power by using the onboard graphics of the motherboard when displaying less graphically intense applications. However the computer will have to be fitted with HybridSLI capable motherboard, such as motherboards based on GeForce 8200 / 8300 chipsets, in order to utilize the technology.

The 9800 GTX+ makes use of NVIDIA CUDA technology which allows the CPUs to transfer rigorous processing tasks on to the graphics card. The card utilizes PhysX technology to provide realistic facial movements and explosions.

Hard core games can achieve extreme gaming performance by connecting three 9800 GTX+ cards via the three-way NVIDIA SLI mode on XFX’s nForce 780i SLI or 790i SLI motherboards. Other features include NVIDIA PureVideo HD technology for better HD movie picture quality, CUDA runtime for Windows Vista support and ESA enabled control panel for users to tweak their settings.

XFX 9800 GTX+ is available all over the country through Rashi Peripherals and is priced at Rs 16,000.
